Following the merger of City YMCA London and YMCA North London we are delighted to announce that we are now officially named YMCA London City and North, or as you’ll often hear us called YMCA London CAN.
Bringing together a combined 150 years of experience supporting young people across six London boroughs as well as the City of London, we are excited about the opportunities this merger will bring.
Our combined organisation now has;
4 Youth hubs
3 Homes for homeless young people
2 Fitness centres
1 Goal – to ensure young people can create their own futures
We now have the capacity to help 600 young people transition from homelessness to independence every year, to help 500 children and young people through our youth hubs and engagement work, and to help over 5,000 people per year become fitter and healthier in our gyms.
While we may have grown in size and scope our focus still remains on the needs of every single young person we work with. We strongly believe all young people should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential. It’s no coincidence that our name is shortened to YMCA London CAN. We seek to ensure every young person we work with, whether in our hostels, youth hubs or gyms, leaves saying “I Can”.
