Over 600,000 young people call our patch of London home. Whilst they all have the right to belong, contribute and thrive, for many, their start in life has been fraught with challenges. Each year thousands of young people end up with nowhere to call home. Whilst our buildings provide safe homes, our staff help create futures.
We operate three units of accommodation in Hackney, Haringey and Islington. Collectively these provide around 600 young people with safe and stable accommodation every year, helping young people aged 16-25, who are homeless or in housing need, to achieve the transition to independence. As well as food and affordable accommodation, the YMCA offers residents integrated access to training, personal development, guidance and job searching facilities.
In addition to housing we offer a range of youth interventions through our VYBZ youth hub in Islington and the Harringay Club. Our fitness facilities at LandAid House and Crouch End, driven by our partners, promote fitness and social inclusion to the wider community. Our community hub at Tarling Road offers a place for the community to meet and our Whitecross Street Party offers a place for the community to celebrate.
Our ultimate aim is to create futures and ensure all young people leave our services saying ‘I can’.
